We are seeking an Engineering Technical Strategist-Projects to support the KC Professional Capital Project Execution team in Roswell, GA.
This individual must be a team oriented, innovative, hardworking individual who can provide Mechanical project execution direction, including leadership and improvement of key work processes.
The incumbent is able to effectively coach, teach, and mentor engineers across KCP to help ensure outstanding project results.
The incumbent reports to the Engineering Team Director.
Position Purpose:
Serve as a project leader for relatively large or complex projects. Incumbent will provide cross functional project leadership for the KC Professional Engineering team and ensure successful commercialization and launch of products that meet project success criteria and business financial goals. Including primary point of coordination and interface with Research, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, and Mill Operations.
Customers and Customer Expectations:
Product End Users: Marketing; Product Supply (WCPS); Manufacturing facilities, Vendors through Sourcing and Supply Management; Legal Department, Safety & Regulatory (as applicable).
Scope:
Serve as the project leader for relatively large or complex projects for the KCP Professional business. Incumbent will provide cross functional project leadership to ensure successful commercialization and launch of products that meet project success criteria and business financial goals through IMF, including primary point of coordination and interface with Research, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, and Mill Operations.
* Drive alignment across functional areas and gain alignment from business team on the approach/milestones for project.
* Drive key business decisions relative to project launches, success criteria, approach, etc.
* Provide direction and coaching to project team members and junior members of the team in the same area of discipline.
* Effectively plan and complete project responsibilities on time.
* Ensure communication of project plans and results to customers and other team members.
* Provide protection to technologies and products through appropriate use of patents and trade secrets.

* Develop innovative plans and solutions in carrying out technical programs that meet customer needs.
* Demonstrate scientific expertise in a technical area important to the corporation.
* Ensure documentation of research and development work in areas of responsibility.
* Consulting in areas of technical expertise.
* Provide coaching and mentoring to junior members on the team.
Required/Critical Qualifications/Education/Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline and typically 8+ years of experience and/or combinations of advanced degrees and lessor amounts of relevant experience. Alternatively, demonstrated equivalent scientific ability, based on extensive relevant experience and appropriate education.
* Solid project leadership skills (and experience) including:
+ Demonstrated ability to lead and direct a multi-disciplined team to meet business objectives. Critical to this position is the ability to influence people at all organizational levels, drive decision-making and execute complex projects on demanding timelines.
+ Ability to clearly and succinctly communicate ideas and opportunities to leadership.
Optional Qualifications:
* Ability to effectively influence across all levels in the organizations
* Ability to drive collaboration across functions/departments
* Balanced experience or familiarity across both Product/Process functions
* Highly capable of writing and presenting updates to leadership
* Experience with the preparation of IMF documents
* Experience with the use of LEAN tools, such as 4SPS
* Ability/willingness to make (or drive to) tough, informed decisions.
