We are seeking an Engineering Technical Strategist-Projects to support the KC Professional Capital Project Execution team in Roswell, GA.
This individual must be a team oriented, innovative, hardworking individual who can provide Mechanical project execution direction, including leadership and improvement of key work processes.
The incumbent is able to effectively coach, teach, and mentor engineers across KCP to help ensure outstanding project results.
The incumbent reports to the Engineering Team Director.

Position Purpose:

Serve as a project leader for relatively large or complex projects. Incumbent will provide cross functional project leadership for the KC Professional Engineering team and ensure successful commercialization and launch of products that meet project success criteria and business financial goals. Including primary point of coordination and interface with Research, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, and Mill Operations.

Customers and Customer Expectations:

Product End Users: Marketing; Product Supply (WCPS); Manufacturing facilities, Vendors through Sourcing and Supply Management; Legal Department, Safety & Regulatory (as applicable).

Scope:

Serve as the project leader for relatively large or complex projects for the KCP Professional business. Incumbent will provide cross functional project leadership to ensure successful commercialization and launch of products that meet project success criteria and business financial goals through IMF, including primary point of coordination and interface with Research, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, and Mill Operations.

* Drive alignment across functional areas and gain alignment from business team on the approach/milestones for project.
* Drive key business decisions relative to project launches, success criteria, approach, etc.
* Provide direction and coaching to project team members and junior members of the team in the same area of discipline.
* Effectively plan and complete project responsibilities on time.
* Ensure communication of project plans and results to customers and other team members.
* Provide protection to technologies and products through appropriate use of patents and trade secrets.

Required/Critical Qualifications/Education/Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline and typically 8+ years of experience and/or combinations of advanced degrees and lessor amounts of relevant experience. Alternatively, demonstrated equivalent scientific ability, based on extensive relevant experience and appropriate education.
* Solid project leadership skills (and experience) including:
+ Demonstrated ability to lead and direct a multi-disciplined team to meet business objectives. Critical to this position is the ability to influence people at all organizational levels, drive decision-making and execute complex projects on demanding timelines.
+ Ability to clearly and succinctly communicate ideas and opportunities to leadership.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

10-month, Tenure-Track

Ten-month, tenure-track professors are, in addition to teaching in discipline, responsible for curriculum development, selection of discipline resources, assists in the development and evaluation of faculty and participates in college governance activities. As a 10-month, tenure track faculty member, you will be on a continuing contract to teach 5 courses, maintain 10 office hours, and 10 college service hours that may include, but not limited to serving on committees and work teams, research and special projects.

Engineering Manager (Product Development)

Our client, a high tech manufacturing company located Hillsboro, OR, currently has an opening for an Engineering Manager. In this role you will be a key member of their engineering staff reporting to the VP of Engineering. You must be a dedicated team player committed to working in a high growth organization, and able to assume responsibility for the management of the Product Development engineering group of the organization.
Responsibilities:
Manage Product Development engineering team.
Develop and manage patent portfolio.
Work closely with Marketing and Manufacturing to develop market leading, reliable products.
Establish current and long range objectives, plans, and policies.
Create budgets, allocate resources, and determine schedule of project deadlines and product releases.
Review operating results of the organization, compare to established objectives and take steps to ensure that appropriate measures are implemented to correct unsatisfactory results.
Oversee and direct design, development, and test functions of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems.
Manage product development activities to meet customer specifications and documentation requirements.
Ensure thorough and efficient new product introduction from marketing request to manufacturing handoff.
Direct and coordinate activities necessary to complete design, project, or technology development efforts. Will prepare engineering studies, specifications, and cost estimates.
Education and Experience:
BS Engineering degree (mechanical, electrical, optical)
7+ years engineering experience
