Position Description:

1. Responsible for making equipment adjustments to ensure proper specifications are met

Standard

APPRENTICESHIPS START AT A MINIMUM HOURLY RATE OF $14.85 AND PROGRESS TO $18.85 WTHIN THREE YEARS. MAXIMUM PAY CAN REACH $20.68

Job Detail:

Must be able to work safely and prioritize safety during daily duties.

Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain printing press to print multi-color work. Monitor critical color values and registration requirements on paper web. Review job specifications to determine the press setup. Perform all set up tasks associated with the type of press operated, such as hanging plates or installing cylinders, examine plates/cylinders for imperfections and perform checks for correct positioning of images, prepping blankets, adjusting tension and register etc. Make necessary color corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work. Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required. Perform periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer.

Skill sets preferred:

Printing experience in a printing environment preferred but not necessary. Experience in working with other manufacturing equipment and processes preferred but not necessary. Experience in the operation of various hand tools preferred but not necessary. Must be able to work in a team environment.

Patent Bindery Light Equipment Operator

Standard

Key Responsibilities:
* Understand the correct sorting of mail.
* Correctly match shift bag tags/pallet flags with mail labels. Sequence mail to the run order to maintain schedules.
* Segregate pre-printed palletized mail flags for mail being run.
* Effectively lead work area in following the bindery run order, shipping instructions, AIT’s, and other pertinent information to meet established production schedules.
* Understand and read bindery break-ups and run orders, and make necessary adjustments of label-takes with the mailer to ensure proper sequence.
* Accurately complete J-stock requisitions and other reporting documents as necessary.
* Manually repair damaged labels, affix these to books and ensure books are sent on proper truck and pallet.
* Capably operate, trouble-shoot, and fix strappers, stackers, shrink wrapper, mailers, Little David Tape Machines, and other auxiliary work area equipment.
* Set the example and enforce (holding everyone accountable) the maintenance of a safe, clean, and orderly working environment.
* Maintain glue supply in pots, ink supply in printers, plastic strap supply in strappers, so as to be caught up with production output at all times.
* Relieve crewmembers, as appropriate, including Material Handlers and Line Operators.
* Safely and efficiently handle bindery waste, some of which is classified by the EPA as hazardous.
* Assist in the development of employees assigned to work area.

Multi Operators in our lumber mill in Fayette, AL. This is a non-climate controlled mill, meaning temperatures can be very high in the summer, and cold in the winter.
