Material Handler – Shipping

Duties/Responsibilities of Position:
* Receive freight from carriers/customers and update system accordingly
* Identify damaged equipment or accessories that were not returned
* Route assets to appropriate lab area and record in the proprietary software system
* Assist in physical inventory implementation and cycle counting
* Assist in pulling customer orders and preparing them to go to the lab area or to be sent to shipping
* Must have the ability to package and ship equipment using various methods such as foam in place, hard foam and transit cases.
* Assist other departments as needed
* Must have the ability to work with computers in a windows based environment
* Ability to accurately compare and match, small numeric and alpha characters on asset labels and product sheets
* Must have prior experience or the ability to drive a forklift
* Must have the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced warehouse environment
* Must have the ability to work a flexible work schedule, and overtime when required.
* General cleaning and other duties as required.

Position Specific Competencies/Skills Required:
* 2nd shift hours: 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm or later

* Counts floor stock inventories, orders replenishment supplies, restocks nursing unit supply carts and storage area.

* Includes exchanging, checking, filling, and charging of adult and pediatric crash carts. Includes checking for expiration dates of supplies and supplies used.

* Picks up and delivers patient care equipment to nursing units while monitoring equipment levels kept in the work area.

* Performs physical inventory.

* Assist checking supplies for expirations on a house wide basis and replacing as needed.

* Assists rotating stock and maintaining clean and organized PAR Carts and storage areas.

* Stocks and picks medical supplies in house as a backup for the supply carts.

* Delivers and picking up of Disaster Carts.

* Promotes positive relations with all internal and external customers.

* Assists with product conversions at the assigned location, as necessary.

Accountability:

Reports to the Regional Distribution Operations Manager or Material Manager, as designated.
Is accountable for the timely and safe delivery of patient and facility critical supplies/equipment used in the care of patients within
the facility while providing excellent customer service.

The Material Planner is responsible for the planning of purchased components to support the production schedules of finished goods, in-house production, customer service and accessories. The procurement of components is managed through scheduling agreements and vendor interaction.

The Material Planner monitors the performance of vendors to ensure continued quality and timely shipments. Planners also monitor inventory levels and coordinate with purchasing to maintain adequate levels of parts and raw materials to manufacture product. In addition, the job responsibility involves working to improve delivery times, inventory, cost and quality of materials from vendors, as well as phase-in/phase-out process coordination/ optimization responsibility.

What will be your job functions?

Planning & Inventory Management
* Maintain proactive material planning with the objective of providing on time delivery to support demand requirements. Maintain purchased inventory to maximize operating efficiency.
* Plan raw material and purchased components for assembly and manufacturing of products based upon MRP requirements.
* Assure on-time delivery of purchased and raw material in coordination with the production schedule from a global supply base.
* Monitor and maintain MRP parameters and material master on a regular basis.
* Drive supply base performance improvement by implementing strategies to improve delivery, reduce lead times, and effectively manage overall procurement and optimized inventory.
* Initiate internal and external inventory reduction opportunity projects.
* Monitor the order fulfillment and delivery process.
* Make independent decisions that will directly affect the operation of the business.
* Establish effective communications with suppliers and carriers concerning shipping/routing instructions that provide timely and economical material deliveries.
* Maintain the flexibility required to cope with abrupt changes in schedule requirements.
* Coordinate processing of service part requirements between production and materials departments to minimize customer backorders.
* Perform administrative tasks related to orders, receipts and shipments conforming procedures.
* Support decisions of capacity planning and availability.
* Maintenance of minimum/maximum safety stock inventory levels to support changes in production plans and material usage.
* Work with different supply concepts to optimize cost, e.g. JIT, VMI, Consignment, S2L etc.
* Facilitate constraint reviews with suppliers and escalate materials at risk.
* Address material shortages immediately to minimize production impact.
* Manage Supplier performance in support of site On Time To Request (OTTR) goals.
* Resolve instances of rejected materials coordinating with Supplier, Quality, and Operations.
* Coordinate material availability to support new packages, products or processes.
* Act as back-up for Production Scheduler.
* Support production planning and control to optimize workflow and market supply.
* Communicate through the Supply Chain and its support functions, e.g. planning, production, quality. and customer service to insure smooth flow of orders through the system.

Phase-in/ Phase-out & Change Orders
* Review and monitor design changes, ECO’s (Engineering Change Order), planning changes and model discontinuance notices to minimize material surplus or obsolescence.
* Monitor inventory time supply and turn targets.
* Arrange for timely and economical disposal of surplus, obsolete and rejected material.
* Assure on-time delivery of new components in support of new product introductions.
* Support scheduling of assembly trials, pilots, pre-series, etc.
* Support coordinating materials transition from prototype to release for production.
* Support new product development, coordinate scheduling and ramp-up of new product releases.
* Develop and maintain material requirement plans to ensure uninterrupted supply of assigned materials while minimizing investment, minimizing material obsolescence and minimizing material write-off.
* Comply with all the applicable corporate as well as site and laboratory policies and procedures with regard to personal conduct, Health Safety Environment (HSE) and Product Safety & Regulatory Affairs (PSRA) standards.

Other
* Define terms, conditions and business requirements for suppliers and participate in supplier selection.
* Perform supplier qualification and certification, performance evaluation, material plan preparation and execution, and purchase order preparation.
* Contribute to projects, e.g. Continuous Improvement Projects, and proactively identify opportunities to increase performance and efficiency.
* Ensures compliance to all company requirements within assigned areas of responsibility (Code of Ethics, Purchasing Policy, Confidentiality, other requirements as identified by the Company Associate Handbook).
* Use SAP to fullest extent in support of planning activities.
* Review supplier invoices for payment when necessary.
* Conduct periodic review of reports that summarize progress in supply chain objectives and metrics.
* Evaluate requisition requirements and administer purchase orders to suppliers.
* Interface to identify, communicate and resolve planning related problems.
* Perform and support root cause analyses.
* Perform all other duties as assigned.

Your profile
* Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business or Engineering or other related discipline; MBA or Masters in related field a plus.
* Working knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment. SAP knowledge is an advantage.
* Understanding of JIT concepts, theory of constraints and lean philosophy.
* High level of conceptual understanding.
* Experience forecasting, planning, scheduling, controlling, inventory and materials management and sourcing in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other similar continuous improvement concepts.
* Project Management Experience and relationship building skills.
* Experience in problem solving; developing and executing objectives for team and affect business goals.
* Experience in process reviews of the current and future state to remove waste from processes and apply value-added engineering concepts.
* Excellent organizational skills.
* Excellent oral and written communications skills to work with various departments in the organization as well as outside vendors.
* Strong math skills are required to calculate the amount of materials needed for production.
* Comfortable with technology and the use of standard office programs and networks.
* Customer / Client service orientation.
* Ability to gather, interpret, analyze and proactively act on data with minimal supervision.
* A strong ability to manage multiple aspects of the Supply Chain.
* High sense of urgency with ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, anticipating and adjusting to production challenges to meet customer requirements.

* APICS certification is a plus.

In this role, you will be responsible for operating the grain scales and the computer system, weighing incoming and outgoing truck shipments, grading corn, and recording data accurately.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
* Timely loading of all ethanol and other products into railcar or truck
* Proper completion of all records related to the products loaded for shipment from the plant site
* Communicate with team members about current plant operations including, but not limited to, any loading or equipment problems
* Identify opportunities for improvement and participate in efforts to improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs
* Maintain cleanliness of plant
* Maintain rolling stock to include loaders, railcar mover, skid steer, fuel loader by checking fluid levels, greasing, lubricating and re-fueling
* Inspect loaders, railcar mover, etc. for defects, cracks, wear, etc. according to the designated schedule issued by maintenance and document the inspection results
* Perform pre and post-loading inspection results
* Submit work requests when appropriate

* Shovels loose materials such as sand, gravel, metals, plastics, or chemicals, into machine hoppers or into vehicles and containers such as wheelbarrows, scrap truck, or barrels

Qualification:
Basic Qualifications:
* 3+ Years of relevant professional supply chain planning experience or working in a materials overhall position.
* Experience with MRP (SAP) systems
* Experience interpreting ATA 100 manuals
* MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:
* SAP Aftermarket solution
* Previous experience in Aerospace environment
* APEX certification

Education: Bachelors of Science in Business Administration or equivalent

Trinity Highway Products is searching for a Material Handler in our Fort Worth, TX plant. As a Material Handler, you’ll expedite the movement of parts and material between production areas by lifting or otherwise moving raw materials and/or parts. You’ll prepare and coordinate schedules for pulling and delivering materials to control the flow of goods and regulate the production floor space.

What you’ll do:
* Operate mobile equipment as required
* Maintain and organize production floor and storage area (indoors and outside)
* Assist in pulling and delivering materials
* Pull and deliver materials as requested

Material Handler

As a Material Handler at Steel Technologies, your main responsibility is to support our overall plant operations. In this role, you will have exposure to our finished goods and learn more about our customers and end product. Through general labor tasks and moving material and packing, this position will have potential for unlimited growth opportunities.

How youll contribute to our company:
* Follow production information to prepare material according to customer specifications
* Package material by operating turnstile, downlayer, banding line, overhead crane, and forklift
* Accurately pull proper material from storage for transfer to storage area or to equipment as needed
* Transfer material from machines to scales or to storage area as required
* Maintain safe storage and handling of all material
* Perform daily crane and/or forklift inspection and documentation
* Ensure proper handling procedures to prevent material damage
* Remove and replace slitter heads, scrap hoppers or anything that requires movement by the crane and/or forklift
* Maintain safe arrangement and organization of storage area including cleaning and housekeeping of the material storage area
* Train new employees as needed
