A DAY IN THE LIFE – POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Technical Support
* Successfully completes CRHF Field Technical Training – including online and field-based training
* Performs checks/interrogations of all CRHF medical device systems post sign-off
* Supports implants of all CRHF products post sign-off
* Provides on-call support as needed on evenings and weekends post sign-off
* Provide troubleshooting support as requested
* Operational Support
* Assures completion of patient registration and any other required hospital documentation
* Helps manage consignment inventory and trunk inventory once obtained
* Provides additional inventory support to meet customer needs
* Maintains software on programmers throughout the district as directed
* Assists with managing daily coverage logistics as needed

* Educates and trains physicians, hospital personnel and office staff on products or solutions for which training has been completed

MUST HAVE – MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* A High School Diploma plus 11 years of clinical specialist experience with a medical device pacing company, OR
* An Associate’s Degree plus 9 years of clinical specialist experience with a medical device pacing company (or 8 years with 2 years of prior healthcare or engineering experience), OR
* A Bachelor’s Degree plus 7 years of clinical specialist experience with a medical device pacing company (or 6 years with 2 years of prior healthcare or engineering experience), OR

Primary Function:

This individual will work collaboratively with physicians, consultants, nurses and other health care practitioners, dedicating his/her specialized practice to patients in the CICU, inpatient floor and, occasionally, in the cardiac outpatient clinic. Our patient population ranges from newborns to young adults with congenital or acquired heart disease. We perform all of the complex cardiac repairs, including heart transplants, utilizing the full range of technical modalities such as ECMO/ECLS, Ventricular Assist Devices including the Berlin Heart, Thoratec, and implantable Heart ware models. We also provide nitric oxide and continuous renal replacement when indicated.

Essential Responsibilities:

Obtain medical history, perform physical exam, order and interpret laboratory data on all patients being admitted to the Nemours Cardiac Center. Assist the physician staff of the Nemours Cardiac Center to provide inpatient and outpatient care services. Assist the Cardiac Staff in the preoperative preparation and postoperative care of surgical patients. Coordinate ongoing overall patient care with physician staff, other nurse practitioners and physician assistants, nursing staff and other ancillary care providers to ensure treatment plans are implemented. Interact with families of the patients on the cardiac service, embracing our family centered focus. Write a daily progress note on inpatients, collate inpatient records and perform discharge summaries, utilizing the electronic medical record. Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives. Attend departmental patient care conferences.

Position description

The registered nurse (RN) is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. Qualifications

Student or Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate, associate, or diploma nursing program, as recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN- formerly NLN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). If graduated from a nursing program that was not accredited by ACEN or CCNE, at least one year of RN experience (within the last 5 years) in an applicable care setting is required. If graduation did not occur within the last two years, one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting is required or, effective October 1st, 2017 one year of current LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is required.

All associate degree or diploma registered nurses hired into the Department of Nursing with a RN start date after September 1, 2010, must provide documented evidence of program completion of their baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program within 5 years from the last day of the month of their RN start date.

Additional qualifications

One year RN experience within the last five years preferred. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Experience working in a team environment. Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred. Mayo Clinic has more than 300 surgeons and 240 operating rooms among its three locations in Arizona, Florida and Minnesota, including the Mayo Clinic Health System. Mayo surgical teams perform high volumes of complex operations including neurosurgery, cardiothoracic and transplant surgery.

This Certified Surgical Technologist role will be supporting Saint Marys Hospital in Cardiac. May also float to other specialties as assigned.

Position description

The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) provides care to the surgical patient under the direct supervision of the registered nurse and in collaboration with the surgical team. The CST performs primarily in the surgical scrub role preparing, selecting and maintaining equipment, instruments, and supplies. The CST possesses knowledge in the application of sterile and aseptic technique. The CST utilizes knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, surgical instrumentation and technology as member of the surgical team. The CST will float to a variety of surgical specialties, as necessary, to provide care to surgical patients.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited program of surgical technology under the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or current certification through National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).

Additional qualifications

Adapts to unpredictable situations within the perioperative setting. Proven ability to communicate with a variety of people in a direct, empathetic, and articulate manner. Comprehensive understanding of surgical processes and procedures preferred. Two years successful surgical technologist experience in acute care, perioperative or surgical setting within the last five years preferred.

License or certification

Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency. CST Certification through NBSTSA required prior to start date.
