Accountant

Standard

SUMMARY
Under general direction, performs various accounting functions to gather, analyze, interpret, record, and present financial data, according to established departmental procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Maintains confidentiality of CDS Global and its clients proprietary information.
* Maintains accounts and records and performs other accounting functions such as recording disbursements, expenses and payments.
* Prepares and examines accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.

* Assists in preparation of various financial statements.
* Researches and prepares various routine accounting reconciliations and journal entries.
* Gathers, analyzes and confirms accuracy of data used for resolving discrepancies and answers inquiries regarding that data.
* Provides financial data to internal and/or external management and/or contacts.
* Works on special projects as requested by the Manager.
* Organizes tasks and resources to complete work and meet deadlines according to established departmental procedures.
* Learns and applies new information in fast paced environment, including various accounting software applications.
* Interacts in cooperative and professional manner with all levels of employees, clients and/or vendors in team-oriented environment.
* Makes decisions on variety of tasks frequently requiring discretion, judgment and initiative guided by general procedures or standards.
* Follows all CDS Global ergonomic and safety policies.

* Performs additional duties as required or requested.

EDUCATION AND/OR CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND LICENSING
* Associates Degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent work experience.
* One or more years of business accounting experience.

* Time management skills to prioritize and complete tasks.

* Active learning skills. Ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.

* Intermediate PC knowledge/skills.

* Excel skills required.
* Excellent written skills. Ability to communicate effectively appropriate for the needs of the audience.

* Demonstrated skills gathering and interpreting data.
* Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
* Demonstrated experience working in a team environment.
* Math skills. Ability to use math to solve problems. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly.

* Demonstrated experience remaining productive in changing environment.
