Position Description:

1. Responsible for making equipment adjustments to ensure proper specifications are met

2. Responsible for performing quality checks and recording results

3. Responsible for changing settings on equipment during changeovers.

4. Responsible for properly recording all production numbers

5. Responsible for performing some routine maintenance on equipment

6.
Responsilbe for knowing and following all plant, department, and job safety rules.
Must maintain an acceptable level of housekeeping in the shop and after completing assigned jobs.

7. Responsible for wearing and using all required PPE.
(hard hat, steel toe shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs, etc).

Prior forklift operation experience preferred
(loading, warehouse, etc.)

1. Able to work in a manufacturing setting in a safe manner and follow all plant safety rules and practices.

2. Maintain a high standard for housekeeping within the work area.

3. Computer skills needed for data entry and reporting. Process will involve quality data or require comments related to the production/loading operation.

4. Recognize measurements that are outside of a specified range.

5. Read measuring devices – standard tape measure down to 1/32″ and a micrometer down to 0.001″.

6. Read and complete documented inspection procedures.

Must be able to read, write and possess basic math and science skills.

8. Computer skills preferred to review or revise documents in Microsoft Office Programs.

9. Navigate Microsoft Outlook for work related email.

10. Ability to learn to operate plant equipment

11. Familiar with common hand tools and how to properly use them. (Hammer, wrench, screwdrivers, pliers, putty knife, etc.)

12. Ability to troubleshoot minor issues within a process.

13. Good communication skills needed with all co-workers.

14. Recognize unsafe conditions or hazards within work area.

15. Demonstrates the ability to cooperate with co-workers in areas of safety, quality, production/maintenance, and understands importance of completing assigned tasks and their relationship to other requirements.

16. Able to learn procedures and retain information for continuous use.

17. Ability to use on-line tools to monitor product specifications to ensure product compliance.

18. Ability to make machine and process adjustments to ensure product is within required specifications.

19. Trained in the safe operation of the forklift and all equipment associated with driving the forklift. Has received forklift certification, which is updated as required, or has the ability to acquire certification.

Georgia-Pacific is currently seeking an Asset Availability Leader (AAL) for our Ft. Dodge, IA Gypsum facility.
Ft. Dodge, IA is located in the Northwest area of Iowa and is a safe, vibrant community within easy traveling distance to Ames, IA, Des Moines, IA, Omaha, NE and Minneapolis, MN.

This position will be responsible for the long-term reliability of a gypsum board production line producing approximately 230 thousand million sq. ft./yr. of a variety of types of gypsum wall board.

The successful candidate will be the leader of overall reliability (practices, principles and discipline) of this area. This role provides strategic direction to the area through the application of the Market Based
Management^® (MBM) framework and our Guiding Principles.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

* Create an environment where the team achieves excellence in Environmental, Health and Safety (including Chemical process safety and process safety management). Ensure excellence in all compliance areas.
* Lead and foster a culture that values risk identification and personal ownership of our equipment and processes.
* Responsible for a reliable product system, understanding top priorities, and continually driving reliability into our culture, processes and equipment.
* Accountable for long term reliability across the product system and technology centers.
* Gap analysis and the development of improvement plans
* Equipment benchmarking
* Asset performance tracking and reporting
* Development of best practices
* Lead/coordinate long term reliability and asset strategies.
* Collaborate with manufacturing engineer(s) and the reliability coordinator on critical equipment strategies.
* Maintain, analyze, and distribute equipment reliability data.
* Work with operations and review operating logs & statistical analyses to identify equipment reliability issues.
* Develop and steward implementation of strategies that lead to the achievement of reliability goals.
* Ensure operating reliability activities are supported, based on resource availability and priority.
* Review & prioritize reliability issues with the reliability coordinator and maintenance support team
* Identify the need for Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), initiate and lead/or participate in RCFA as needed (Critical failures, for example)
* Troubleshoot operational issues and analyze efficiency and equipment reliability data.
* Collects, categorizes, analyzes and reports production data
* Facilitates operational meeting
* Train personnel in production and maintenance data collection systems and resources
* Acts as liaison in gathering sales information and production output
* Communicate plant performance results to all levels of the organization

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:
* Two-year technical degree/associates degree or higher
* A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a manufacturing environment
* Experience using Microsoft Office Software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook

What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:

* Bachelors Degree or higher
* 5 or more years of project management, continuous improvement and/or production leadership
* Proficiency with Microsoft office and ERP systems
* Experienced working with teams from production, warehouse, shipping and sales
