What would you do? – The Specifics
* Ensures high quality patient care.
* Maintains a professional atmosphere and appearance of doctor’s office and pretest room.
* Understands ocular terminology and diseases and knows the ocular abbreviations.
* Explains to the patient the types of preliminary examinations.
* Completes necessary paperwork and performs testing on patients prior to doctor examination.
* Promotes visual field testing and retinal screenings to eligible patients.
* Performs exam pre-screening.
* Reviews prescriptions and/or patient information carefully and identifies special needs. Consults with the optician, Doctor or Retail Management when necessary.
* Fills out referral forms and follow-up paperwork as required.
* Maintains accurate and organized patient records.
* Ensures equipment, both Doctor’s and pre-test, is properly maintained.
* Orders and maintains supplies and pharmaceuticals as directed.
* Follows all store and corporate policies and procedures.
* Participates in regularly scheduled mandatory communications meetings in order to keep informed of changes in corporate policies and initiatives.

StarPoint Instructor

OVERVIEW:
The StarPoint Program Teacher creates, coordinates and instructs classes and activities in tandem with the program theme for the StarPoint Summer Camp Program (for youth ages 6-12 years). The Teacher will participate in all field trip programs off-site with the StarPoint participants. The Teacher will also mentor program participants and other youth, and display a professional demeanor.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Teaches classes based on the immersive theme of the program units. Follows activity outlines that are developmentally appropriate for classroom instruction.

2.Views children as competent learners who are active, social, and capable. Differentiates instruction for each student based on individual developmental needs and interests. Demonstrates respect, appreciation, and care for students throughout the educational environment.

3.Builds programming, using the galleries and experiences within the museum as an extension of the classroom. Builds an extraordinary learning experience for each StarPoint family.

4.Implements daily program activities for small groups. Adapts activities based on the needs of the StarPoint campers. Understands and uses positive behavior guidance to help each child develop the ability to self-regulate his/her behavior.

5.Provides excellent customer service and a developmentally effective approach to connect with StarPoint campers and their families, as well as visitors and staff in the museum.

6.Attends all staff meetings, professional development trainings and events as scheduled. Participates in open and on-going communication with the Family and Neighborhood Programs Coordinator.

7.Understands and implements project-based learning with in-depth investigations of topics.

8.Helps to monitor environment for hazards or sanitary concerns to ensure a safe and healthy learning experience. Assists in correcting problems immediately by following proper procedures, and/or removing StarPoint youth from hazard until it can be corrected

9.Clearly communicates daily program objectives and goals to all stakeholders. Serves as a positive mentor and role model for StarPoint staff and youth by demonstrating instructional best practices and encouraging the development of leadership competencies.

10.Works with Family Programs staff to ensure that appropriate staff-to-child ratios are met within the classroom or other areas of the museum and on field trips.
REQUIREMENTS:
1.Indiana Educator License.
2.Experience in working with children in a formal/informal educational setting. Preferably three years.
3.Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
4.Able to work independently and in team efforts.
5.Must be available for the entirety of the 4-week program.
6.Must be available for evening family events.
