Position Summary

The Enterprise Architect plays an important role in the organization by performing a variety of activities directly related to the organizations Information Technology functions. The role is responsible for the creation, maintenance and management of IT architecture models and other various components. This role is required to interpret, use and apply information contained within IT architecture to inform a range of business improvement activities, particularly those involved in the design, development, enhancement and maintenance of IT support systems. The Enterprise Architect is expected to ensure that the overall ICT architecture is maintained in a coherent manner and that appropriate considerations are made for its security and quality. The primary role of the Enterprise Architect is to ensure that the respective business, application, data and technology perspectives are in line with the organizations technology and governance strategies, policies and standards.

Essential Functions

* Create architecture solutions, diagrams and documents to solve Information Technology and business challenges, equating to application and solutions architecture mastery.
* Recommend and participate in the design, development and implementation of standards, tools and methodologies.
* Collaborate with all relevant parties in order to review the objectives and constraints of each solution and determine conformance; recommend the most suitable technical architecture and define the solution at a high level.
* Guide the design to obtain a system that fits in the customer and business context.
* Create and communicate the integral understanding of identified problems and their respective solutions.
* Research overall information and communications technology solutions on the market for particular technical requirements and business needs.
* Conduct and/or actively participate in meetings related to designated project(s) with applicable stakeholders.
* Partner with and represent the business viewpoint/interests for all the enterprise architecture disciplines (infrastructure, application, security, data, business architecture) in standards/governance maturity discussions.
* Provide architecture thought leadership when selecting tools and setting standards; advise and recommend enterprise architecture strategies, processes and methodologies.
* Assist in maturing enterprise architecture management practices.
* Execute on and move from tactical solutions management to think broadly and strategically about the business.
* Ensure compliance with architecture standards.
* Participate in leadership discussions regarding new technology introduction and/or enterprise system planning activities.
* Evaluate and approve all 3rd party engagements (including approval of renewal contracts) and approve contracts.
* Recommend and participate in the analysis, evaluation and development of enterprise long-term strategic and operating plans to ensure that the EA objectives are consistent with the enterprises long-term business objectives.
* Share best practices, lessons learned and consistently update the technical system architecture requirements based on changing technologies and knowledge related to recent, current and upcoming vendor products and solutions.
* Identify and recommend areas appropriate for further study and participate in any Proof of Concept projects required to thoroughly investigate architectural possibilities and strengthen arguments for their adoption.
* Identify implementation risks and analyze potential impact on the enterprise and on the achievement of scheduled objectives.
* Recommend and participate in the design and implementation of standards, tools and methodologies.

Qualifications

* Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related, along with 7+ years of progressive technology and leadership experience required.
* Certification in two or more of the following areas: TOGAF, MCSE, MCSD, MCTS, CCNA, Java, Linux, Oracle Experience as technical lead for a major technology implementation.
* Broad technology experience, including complex systems integration and infrastructure expertise.
* Demonstrated success in leveraging technology to meet business objectives.
* History of engaging with CEO and EVP, CIO customers and external clients.
* Proven track record of effective working relationships with executives and key business partners to drive change agendas.
* Demonstrated strategic thinking abilities and an enterprise-wide perspective.
* History of executing with excellence: setting purposeful goals and achieving them through intelligent actions, balancing competing priorities without losing momentum behind execution.
* Experience leading through influence in a large, matrixed, global environment.
* Outstanding collaboration, strong influencing, problem solving and negotiation skills.
* Innovative orientation
* Experience working on Contact Center, Workforce Management and/or other Consumer facing architecture strongly preferred. (adjust to Guilds consumer facing architecture)
* Prior experiences developing market and vendor partnerships of value.
* Ethical, with a commitment to company values.

Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse.

Audio/Visual: Ability to accurately interpret sounds and associated meanings at a volume consistent with interpersonal conversation. Regularly required to accurately perceive, distinguish and interpret information received visually and through audio; e.g., words, numbers and other data broadcasted aloud/viewed on a screen, as well as print and other media.

Summary of Position:

The Enterprise Security Architect is responsible for the Strategy and Roadmap for Security technologies. The Enterprise Security Architect will work closely with Security Architects and other EA domains like Applications, Infrastructure, Cloud, Network and Security as well as with the business in order to identify, recommend, develop, and support cost-effective Security solutions and technologies for all aspects of the organization. The Enterprise Security Architect reports directly to the Domain Architecture Lead and is part of Enterprise Architecture which is part of the broader Strategy & Architecture IT Organization.

The Enterprise Security Architect will be an effective communicator and leader. She/he will be able to conceptualize, plan, document and communicate effectively. The ideal candidate will possess energy and develop value added service definitions. They will thrive in an innovative, diverse, global and collaborative working environment.

They will initiate and deliver technology evaluations and recommendations, develop technology and architecture roadmaps, develop and maintain current and planned state architectural blueprints, solve complex problems with many variables, and be a Security Subject Matter Expert in the development of solutions in support the business and communicate architectural decisions, plans, goals and strategies. This organization has responsibility and supports a global network consisting of 300 locations supporting 50,000 end users.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities of this position are related to developing standards to achieve the target state architecture and roadmap of Security solutions used by Aptiv.

Some of the specific responsibilities of this role include:

* Develop and maintain current and planned state architectural documents – domain roadmaps, standards, reference architecture, implementation documents
* Assess vendor capabilities, development, and test strategies
* Lead working groups and work collaboratively with other domain enterprise and solution architects to deliver a comprehensive technology roadmap and future state vision.
* Stay abreast of how Security technologies are currently impacting and driving competitors.
* Perform Security modeling, analysis, and planning
* Determine capacity limitations within designs and outline growth strategies
* Review and provide input to Security designs, implementation plans, and project timelines for various projects
* Assist in determining production direction and assist in root cause analysis of escalations of operational issues
* Solve complex problems with many variables.
* Maintain in-depth knowledge of the organization’s technologies and architecture
* Communicate architectural decisions, plans, goals and strategies
* Initiate and deliver technology evaluations and recommendations
* Analyze business requirements to develop technical solutions and their framework
* Maintain in-depth knowledge of IT industry best practices, technologies, architectures and emerging technologies.
* Review new and existing program/project architecture for compliance with IT standards, policies and architectural plans.
* Participates as a Security Subject Matter expert in the development of solutions in support of new business and tools expansion.

* Identify gaps in Security capabilities, standards, and roadmaps.

Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering.
* 7+ years’ experience designing global security systems including identifying technical limitations and future opportunities.
* 7+ years’ experience and knowledge of the best available tools, software, applications, and systems that support security technologies and real-time security performance management.
* 7+ years’ experience with security technologies and trends including IAM, SSO, OKTA, SAML, Azure, Active Directory, wireless, WAN, application firewalls, network security.
* 7+ years’ experience with Cisco, Riverbed, cloud services like Azure & AWS, Fortinet, blade switches from HP and Dell, and security solutions from Sourcefire, Fire-eye and similar.
* 7+ years’ in-depth experience with developing strategies, roadmaps, standards and reference architecture/implementation of security solutions.
* 7+ years’ experience and technical knowledge of a wide range of infrastructure components, PC, and platform operating systems.
* 7+ years’ of Project Management experience.
* 7+ years’ experience creating physical and logical diagrams and flowcharting techniques.
