Job Purpose

This position is primarily responsible for: (i) supporting the onboarding process of prospective financial professionals (“FPs”) which includes a review and analysis of agreements with any prior employer, with particular focus on restrictive covenant provisions, and drafting letters to the prospective FP regarding the same; (ii) supporting the process for alerting terminated FPs of their post-termination contractual obligations, which includes a thorough factual investigation of circumstances, review and analysis of underlying contract provisions and drafting cease and desist letters and other communications to terminated FPs; and (iii) liaising with legal counsel on Visa inquiries.
Responsibilities also include reviewing and coordinating responses to third-party process received in connection with state and federal court matters pending nationwide, as well as from regulatory and governmental agencies, including subpoenas, IRS summons, restraining notices, bankruptcies, inquiries, verifications, authorizations, garnishments, and writs of executions. This involves identifying and collecting documents from various business areas, preparing written responses to the requests and interacting with attorneys or legal staff making the requests.

Qualifications

* College degree or the equivalent of at least 5 years of paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate law department;
* Paralegal Certificate preferred;
* self-starter;
* ability to successfully work alone and as part of a team;
* demonstrated success in a professional environment.
