Business Tech Analyst, Assoc

Standard

Provides functional and technical business knowledge to the department through execution of standardized and ad-hoc analysis and reporting. Works closely with peers to run standardized processes using data and business rules. Analyzes company functions, processes, and activities to improve business applications and performance. Understands application/system design and implementation. Acts as business liaison to develop business and functional requirements for small to medium size system enhancements. Consults with end users to build test cases and complete user acceptance testing.

Essential Functions:
* Analyzes data and reports, reviewing and testing technical changes, and distributing as needed.
* Provides requirements and/or performs updates to reports.
* Develops test scenarios against the current logic, updating as needed for accuracy and clarity.
* Creates Ad Hoc reports, queries and/or analyses upon request, or as needed to explain data anomalies or negative trends.
* Report analysis and interpretations of data anomalies to improve system or process performance and efficiency.
* Finds and Implements opportunities to improve efficiencies with step actions and timely delivery of results.
* Develops knowledge of data sufficient to tackle projects with increasing complexity in developing and/or testing new reporting and analysis as needed to support the team.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

Candidate Education:
* Required A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with demonstrated exposure to relevant programming languages (i.e., SAS, SQL, VB.NET, or Oracle (or similar depending upon departmental requirements))
* Required or equivalent work experience 2 years of relevant software experience to include SAS, SQL, VB.NET, or Oracle (or similar depending upon departmental requirements)

In this critical role, you will be collaborating with Senior Supply Chain Analysts to drive execution of inventory initiatives related to product launch, product availability and optimization strategies. This position requires deep familiarity with systems and a solid ability to analyze and manipulate inventory data and to communicate effectively at all levels. Individuals in this role must be highly adaptable to change and shifting priorities, and also require minimal supervision.

A Day in the Life

Your responsibilities:

Develops strong, mutually beneficial relationships with field staff and internal business unit partners, including sales reps, district managers, commercial/sales ops, and sales finance

Proactively partners with field by brainstorming strategies to determine the desired inventory targets; Finds creative approaches to drive inventory strategies; communicates inventory level targets and logic based on BU methodology

Possesses effective soft skills to facilitate dialogue to promote and drive action even with unpopular business initiatives

Utilizes influence management skills to negotiate with field regarding the movement of product to meet case/bulk deal demand (fill from field process) or ensure achievement of inventory optimization targets

Identifies and executes initiatives with the field to proactively reduce slow moving, short-dated, or expired inventory

Manages the process of establishing new trunk stock or consignment levels; Recommends adjustments to field inventory levels and/or negotiates par levels

Executes field inventory retrievals in partnership with the field as necessary

Partners with field to streamline co-owned processes and drive consistency across BUs and regions

Executes and reports on the field cycle count process in accordance with regulatory requirements, Medtronic corporate policies and BU Finance needs, including: communication, escalation, research, reconciliation, transactions/adjustments, inquiries and response to quarterly audits

Manages established inventory levels as dictated by business model based on factors such as statistical data, sales input, GSC strategy, and current inventory status

Executes reporting based on needs of each business

Years of Experience

1+ year proven customer service or supply chain experience

SAP ERP experience

Specialized Knowledge or Skills Required

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Assoc Director, Corporate Development

This role will have primary responsibility to lead and support M&A, divestiture, and investment project opportunities, conduct diligence, and drive integration programs. Success in this role will help Illumina determine the best inorganic opportunities to grow and accelerate our mission of unlocking the power of the genome to improve human health.

This position will lead programs including business plan and integration plan development for M&A and related projects. This role will lead and orchestrate diligence including organizing a cross functional team to examine commercial, technology, and administrative issues related to M&A opportunities. The ability to lead project teams collaboratively across an organization and to synthesize large amounts of information; commercial, technology, and administrative into an executive level summary is essential for success. The ability to relate business analysis to the company strategy, and to external trends is also essential. This role will frequently present to and prepare materials for the executive staff, thus the ability to distill financial, technical, and market information into coherent business strategies will be essential.

This position is within the Corporate and Business Development (CBD) team within Illumina which owns the analysis and execution of strategic partnerships, M&A, and certain commercial initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Analysis: Lead, support, and projects related to M&A, divestitures, and related opportunities. Find external and internal sources of information related to the market, competitive situation, technology, intellectual property, capabilities, and financials. Synthesize and summarize into a clear and accurate analysis of the opportunity as it relates to Illumina.

Diligence: Lead project teams to conduct diligence on targets through collaboration with key functions in the company to determine potential risks and integration issues associated with an opportunity. Coordinate the team, orchestrate an analysis along a prescribed timeline, and organize information.

Integration: Lead the development of integration plans and support coordinating integration on concluded M&A deals. Support the creation of a comprehensive project tracking process, and support the program management of integration by coordinating the team, following up on required actions, and regular reporting of financial, and business metrics.

Requirements:

Previous experience in M&A and/or divestiture transactions is essential. Minimum of 5-10 years active participation in multiple analyses programs and concluded deals is a requirement. Demonstrated knowledge of early deal and market analysis and minimum of 3 years of experience as part of a leading investment bank, global consulting firm, or corporate business development team is required.

All applicants will be asked for a deal sheet of completed transaction and their role in the transactions as it related to analysis, diligence, and integration. Global experience in international deals is strongly preferred.

Relevant knowledge of companies and technologies in biotechnology, diagnostics, is a plus.

Education:

M.B.A. or fundamental and advanced coursework in business, strategy, and financial analysis is strongly preferred.

Scientific coursework and background in the areas of genomics, biology, or chemistry is required. Specific coursework and research in these technical areas with demonstrated broad knowledge in biology.
