As the Technology Leader for the
Palatka, FL site, you will primarily be responsible for the following:

* Oversight and leadership for the site IT reliability, capability and resources.
* Account manager and service broker for all aspects of IT/OT services and applications, promoting adoption of standard solutions where possible.
* Active participation on the mill leadership team to drive change.
* Advancing innovation, optimization, and automation with energy and enthusiasm.
* Collaboratively define technology automation vision and opportunities for waste elimination and optimization through material processing and handling, product flow and tracking, technology usage, monitoring, and analytics to enable competitive position.

* Collaboratively work with the Process Controls groups to drive innovations of IoT efforts.

* Executing strategies based on vision which:
*
+ Leverage technologies, capabilities and transformation to rapidly improve and influence operating costs.
+ Develop capabilities that provide shop floor performance metrics that can be actionable for employees on the shop floor to respond timely to key losses and opportunities.
+ Successful implementation of capital projects.
+ Challenges the status quo of how work has always been done.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

A strong performer in this role will effectively apply our MBM® management philosophy to excel at:

* Managing all local IT activity and ensuring it is aligned with the business vision and strategies.
* Working directly with key operations and business leaders to automate and optimize processes.
* Connecting the mill leadership team to IT vision and strategy.
* Developing and gaining buy-in for a comprehensive IT roadmap at the local site.
* Experimenting with new technologies and solutions, enhancing our knowledge of innovation and opportunities.
* Leading local IT resources, consistently staying up-to-date with and connecting IT employees with how they enable GP to create value.
* Managing internal and 3rd party infrastructure resources for delivery of critical site services. Active member of Manufacturing IT community sharing best practices and standards.
* Understanding and promoting awareness & adoption of leveraged applications and services.
* Provide transformational and collaborative leadership in working with Process Control, Engineering and Operations groups.

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

* At least 5 years of experience in an information technology field or related engineering field.
* At least
3 years of direct supervisory experience leading teams.
* Bachelor’s degree or higher.
* Experience developing/communicating vision and strategy.
* Experience with successful implementation of project management methodology and toolsets.

* At least 5 years of experience in leadership in leading teams.
* Experience supporting a manufacturing environment.
* Process control/engineering and/or automation experience.

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a qualified professional to consider for the Performance Leader position at our Palatka, Florida facility.
Located just south of Jacksonville and west of St. Augustine, FL, the Palatka mill employs about 850 people has three tissue paper machines and produces consumer tissue products such as bath tissue and paper towels sold under the Georgia-Pacific brand names of Angel Soft®, Quilted Northern®, Brawny®, and Sparkle®.

The Performance Leader will support the new Angel Soft tissue lines. The Performance Leader will serve as a resource and mentor to supervisors and manufacturing engineers in the Angel Soft tissue manufacturing area. This person takes the lead and is responsible for the positive technical and behavioral development of the employees in the department.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

* Lead by example: safety behavior, safety plan activities and proactive safe work activities
* Demonstrated ability to lead and hold others accountable in a working environment
* Ensuring that all personnel are trained and comply with all policies and guidelines, internal and external
* Evaluating and coaching the employees on capability and behavioral performance
* Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers and Shift Capability Leaders to assure master tech/technician performance gaps are identified and addressed

Key Responsibilities
* Effectively lead, mentor, supervise, coach and develop hourly employees utilizing the MBM Guiding Principles and Operations Excellence tools to improve capability and performance
* Lead and foster an environment that develops principled business owners in an Ownership Based Work system who can identify learning/development solutions and optimize equipment
* Lead development and implementation of Performance, Skills and Qualifications capability.
Also address performance gaps for Master Techs, Technicians and Utilities against individual capability and performance measurements across the work platform
* Be the leader in advancing individual capability through strategic coaching and creative training materials and procedures
* Create an environment where the team achieves zero incidents in Environmental, Health and Safety
* Lead and foster a safety culture that values risk identification and personal ownership, through a principle based approach
* Ensure that individual roles, responsibilities and expectations (RR&Es) are aligned with mill and organizational goals to assure maximizing real long-term value for the company
* Hold team and individuals accountable for operating strategies and results
* Develop processes and systems which promote the transferring of knowledge to all team members
* Responsible for performance of all assigned employees

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelors degree or higher or 5 years of paper manufacturing experience, this experience must include previous Performance Management background
* Oral and written communication skills, interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to lead organization initiatives and change
* Demonstrated ability to lead and hold others accountable in a working environment and to assess, support and improve performance gaps against individual skill capabilities
* Demonstrated ability to be an effective team coach who seeks and shares knowledge with others for learning and employee development.
* Demonstrated ability to build a documentation, record-keeping and report system which tracks the development of all people within the work system

What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:

* 10 years of manufacturing experience
* Previous leadership experience
2 or more years of supervisory experience in an industrial environment.
* Experience leading a training organization in an industrial environment
* Previous paper machine or paper converting machinery experience.
Tissue paper machine or converting equipment experience is a bonus.
* Previous experience working in a union manufacturing environment
* Experience applying financial and statistical skills within a manufacturing operation
* Experience using Microsoft Office tools in the following manner: Excel (sorting data, creating tables and creating graphs); Outlook (scheduling tasks, calendar invitations and general professional correspondence); Word (document creation/editing); PowerPoint (presentation creation/editing)
* Demonstrated ability to apply MBM® thinking in day-to-day operations for value creation.
* Willingness to help facilitate and build an Ownership-Based Work System
* Ability to institute, support and improve communication strategies, Playbook Structures and capability improvement which drives performance measurements tied to key KPIs

Our Georgia-Pacific facility in Palatka, FL is building a labor pool of Production Utility workers. This entry level position starts with an hourly rate of $13.62 per hour with a competitive benefits package. We will be interviewing for candidates to be placed in a labor pool to choose from as positions become available.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

* Assisting with operating machinery to expected performance levels
* Contributing to team environment by cross training and filling in for other operators during absences and brea
* Operating tow motor equipment
* Doing daily inspections and preventative maintenance tasks, such as lubrication
* Completing downtime reports
* Performing housekeeping duties to avoid downtime and to maintain facility safe and orderly environment

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:
* High school diploma or GED

* One (1) year or more of work experience in a farming, landscaping, carpentry, construction, warehouse, military, production or manufacturing environment
* Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment
* Willing and able to work eight (8) or twelve (12) hour shifts to include weekends, holidays and overtime
* Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for at least eight (8) hours a day

* Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment

Preferred Qualifications:
* Two (2) years or more of work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
* Experience in the pulp and paper industry
