Position Summary

Are you intrigued by packaging technology? If so, this may be the role youve been waiting for. As the Packaging Technology Manager, you will provide leadership for the Packaging Technology team. You will be responsible for facilitating change by managing and initiating all manufacturing package and material changes, line extensions, new brands, package innovation, design to value projects, footprint moves, and vendor qualification. Responsible for the timely development and maintenance of all information relating to packaging our products, including, product definition, packaging standards, specifications, and procedures from components to finished goods. As the packaging manager you will also provide technical leadership regarding the development and troubleshooting of new or existing packages and provide technical skills/decision making in the development of new or existing packages (Form, Fit & Function).

Responsibilities
* Manage new product/new project activity by site/brand.
* Work with Procurement, Marketing, and Site Operations, to ensure the accurate and timely development of all packaging standards, specifications and procedures.
* Ensure the accurate and timely publication, communication and retention of all documentation related to packaging specifications and procedures through our Engineering Change Order process (ECO)and specification management system.
* Ensure that all packaging specifications for wine and spirits products meet the standards developed by the Packaging Technology Department.
* Ensure that all documentation is correctly reflected and linked in our Manufacturing System (JDE), as well as posted in our specification management system (IntellaPac) in the required lead-time.
* Ensure the timely and accurate development of all packaging print for any and all changes.
* Ensure that all information is timely and accurate for Master Data Management (MDO) set-up of item master information for wine and spirits products and their components to meet supplier and manufacturing lead-times and MRP/packaging project long range planning requirements.
* Working with Quality to troubleshoot and make sound technical recommendations for existing quality issues.
* Lead value engineering initiatives for packaging at specific sites.
* Ensure all new suppliers meet qualification standards established by Operations.
* Working with packaging suppliers to provide technical assistance and knowledge during implementation of packaging components based on our quality and efficiency standards.
* Evaluate all component changes for Form, Fit or Function and implement through our manufacturing systems.

Basic Qualifications
* 5+ years of experience in Packaging Technology/Technical Engineering.
* 1+ years supervisory/management experience.
* Strong understanding of packaging components, supplier processes, manufacturing processes, and Engineering Change Order (ECO) principals.
* Able to identify and analyze problems, recommend and implement flexible and creative solutions based on customer need.
* Demonstrated strong team leadership skills, focusing on creating and embracing change management of CAD, CAPE or TOPS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft office (Excel, WORD, and PowerPoint), and understanding of Database concepts.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively organize and manage multiple tasks as projects, ensuring completion to meet deadlines.
* Excellent written communications skills, with the ability to document system procedures in an understandable format.
* Robust communication and influencing skills.

Junior Graphic Designer – Product and Packaging

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Manager of Product Development, this position will be responsible for designing compelling products and kits for the global brands; Real Techniques® and EcoTools®. The designer will be responsible for designing differentiated Cosmetic Accessory products that exceed consumers expectations while meeting profitability and pricing requirements. The designer will work on new products or improve existing ones using their design skills. The designer will be responsible for leveraging macro/micro/market/consumer research and trends to create product designs and concepts. The designs are thoughtfully created for manufacturability through to consumer performance and enjoyment while reinforcing the design language of the brand. The designer will work closely with cross functional teams including Product Development, Innovation, Creative, and Marketing.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

– Create compelling new product and packaging design that will delight consumers and drive profitable sales.
– Develop and present creative concepts according to brand brief requirements
– Translate information into meaningful and influential designs and roll out branding portfolio across multiple segmentations and products
– Apply brand identity systems, typography, design, color, photography and other ingredients appropriately to create innovative, visual solutions that meet business and user needs
– Support the annual new product development cycle through to production utilizing project timelines to ensure design work is on track.
– Establish designs of meaningfully differentiated products leveraging key beauty, fashion and cultural trends.
– Identify materials and treatments for product and packaging and create turnover documents and files for Creative/Packaging Engineer
– Work with manager to understand financials and apply knowledge to design cost right products
– Be mindful of competitive products and marketplace trends
– Prepare presentations for internal and external partners

Packaging Engineer

The Product Support and Logistics Division has an immediate opening for a Packaging Engineer in the Morton, IL facility. In this role, you will design and develop returnable and expendable packaging for individual piece parts and bulk shipping to ensure the timely and efficient receipt and delivery of material. Proper packaging design includes part containment, protection, and optimization of transportation and other supply chain functions.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

* Establish packaging and processing specifications at the part number level for new product introductions, cost savings, or other supply chain improvement
* Develop, communicate and maintain supplier packaging requirements
* Lead initiatives and collaboration with suppliers and facilities changing packaging to improve efficiency within receiving, warehousing, and/or line-side delivery
* Create packaging concepts and container layouts using 3D modeling software (i.e. Pro-E)
* Perform cost analysis and develop business cases for implementing packaging improvements
* Procure and validate new packaging and containers during pilot phase
* Audit supplier conformance to packaging specifications
