The Senior Quality Inspector is responsible for the inspection of incoming materials, work in process, machined components, assemblies and final products. The individual will support the hardware development process from end-to-end. The ability to communicate well, work closely with small groups of people in an interactive, fast paced and occasionally high pressure environment is key to the success of this candidate.
This individual must have a thorough understanding of both CMM and “bench” inspection processes and techniques, as well as the desire to continually develop and expand his/her skills.
Experience with FARO Arm and Laser Tracker experience is a plus.
Requirements
– Must have a minimum 10 years of quality control experience with at least 7 years of CMM experience.
– 5 years of aerospace-related inspection experience.
– Must have a thorough understanding of ASME Y14.5M-1994
– A positive attitude and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required for this position
– Must be very familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures for composite hardware development, assembly, system level inspections, verifications and validations
– Must be very familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures for – mechanical piece part inspection
– Must have a thorough understanding of aerospace standards and quality programs
– Proficient with Microsoft Word , and Excel. MS Access is also desirable
– Familiarity with SolidWorks (desired)
– Capable of working within tight schedules and handling multiple tasks
– The willingness to work overtime (when required)

Duties

Perform specified methodology, volume and temperature measurement and sampling of materials

Commodity material movements involving line and tank transfer or displacement, lightering and loading and unloading

Communicate and coordinate with terminal, transport and company personnel

Monitor supplies
needed for processes and notify Dispatcher or Coordinator of needed supplies

Perform routine equipment calibration, verification and function checks

Maintain work areas, records and equipment

Verify and communicate results obtained

Responsibilities Include:

Performs quality control inspections, checks, and tests during the manufacture of products.

Inspects materials, parts and products at different stages of production.

Records observations and may make recommendations for improving processes.

Requirements Include:

Thorough working knowledge of general inspection hand tools, optical comparator, print reading and GD&T.

Extensive knowledge and ability to operate PC-DMIS based CMM, with occasional small programming tasks.

Prepare inspection reports, certificates of compliance and other documentation depending on customer requirements, including direct entry in ERP system. Epicor and/or SAP experience preferred.

Research and evaluate reliable and repeatable inspection methods for new products, working closely with quality manager and/or customer design engineers.

Knowledge of ISO-9001 based process control policies and procedures relating to QC department.

Competency with SPC, Gage R+R, tool calibration control, first article inspections, MRB procedures, polariscope, vacuum leak-check machine and other specialty equipment or processes as directed by supervision.

Position Summary:
Under general direction from the Project Manager, this position monitors the work of contractors to ensure quality control and contract compliance for projects of routine to moderate complexity.

Essential Job Functions
* Position oversees, inspects, and monitors contractual field work which includes excavations, boring, placement on handhole, aerial strand and fiber cable installation, and restoration of work areas
* Schedules work and inspection phases with contractors superintendent and agency personnel
* Advises contractors of violations and recommends adjustments to operations
* Takes field measurements of to verify contractor billing; checks placement of and performs quality reviews of construction.
* Recommends changes to construction plans to meet field conditions or provide project cost savings.
* Maintains project records which include daily diaries, materials notebooks, as-built plans, and pay quantity records
* Evaluates and monitors progress schedules, prepares work orders, and monthly estimates.
* High School diploma and at least two years of related experience required. Two-year technical degree recommended.

* Examine carpets, drapes and furniture for stains, damage, or wear.
* Check and count linens and supplies. Aid in budget control through supervision of employees’ use of linen, supplies and equipment.
* Record inspection results and notifies cleaning personnel of inadequacies.
* Communicate with other hotel departments regarding problems which need their attention.
* Ensure key control policies.
* Take the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
* Inspects the level of cleanliness in guest rooms, storage areas, laundry areas, restrooms and public areas.
