The Category Analyst position at Best Buy offers a unique opportunity to utilize your academic skills and prior experience. Our Category Analysts-stacked will be involved in a thorough training program involving classroom and on the job elements to prepare them for a role in Demand Planning or Demand Forecasting within our Category Management Teams at Best Buy. This role fills roles in both Demand Planning and Demand Forecasting based on business need and applicants should have an interest in both.

This position has a start date of Monday, April 16th, 2018 and will begin with a three week training program.

Key Responsibilities of Demand Forecasting:
The Forecast Analyst plays a critical role in financial reconciliation process within the business team, working with merchant and demand planning partners to ensure accurate financial and operational forecasts.
The Demand Forecast Analyst (DFA) is responsible for the demand forecast and analysis of performance for an assigned merchandising category. The Demand Forecast Analyst partners with, Merchants, Demand Planning, Promotion Planning Team and members of the Demand Planning Forecast Operations to ensure that all relevant information is included in the forecast process in order to deliver the most accurate statistical forecast. The DFA’s key responsibility is the delivery of forecasting accuracy. The DFA is also responsible for learning and communicating best practices, and SOPs. They are a key contact with other Supply Chain groups for optimization and leveraging of Demand Planning Forecast Operations resources.

Key Responsibilities of Demand Forecasting:
* Execute weekly analysis of Forecasting Accuracy Performance for a designated business category.
* Investigate and communicate recent forecast issues / trends to DFA and Demand Planning .
* Ensure that Demand Planning Level of Service goals are being met.
* Generate Base and Promo demand forecasts to be used in inventory planning.

* Forecasts generated by leveraging Oracle Retail Demand Forecasting and Retail Promote.

Key Responsibilities of Demand Planning:
* Transition Management.
* Review & Adjust Store Replenishment Parameters by allocating the right quantities to the stores at the right time.
* Support the Merchant teams in the transition of product lines.
* Perform SKU transition management analysis and forecasts to minimize at-risk inventory.
* Create initial allocation of product for stores utilizing the appropriate tool as designed in the plan.
* Monitor sales and partner with the DFA to change future forecast where it is needed.
* Transfer inventory between virtual locations as sales and transitions dictate.
* Perform purchase order tracking.
* Utilize the organization’s purchase order management system and procedures for store and dot.com only SKUs.
* Ensure timely SKU receipt flow to the stores and dot.com virtual warehouse (including CF).
* Develop and manage SKU/store level and .com plans (e.g. sales, allocations, inventory levels, etc.) by utilizing the tools and procedures within the replenishment system.
* Utilize the replenishment systems planning functionality to maximize product flow to achieve inventory management objectives.
* Perform and review SKU/store level and .com inventory and sales analysis (e.g., service level, history exceptions, forecast and inventory accuracy) to ensure in-stock goals.
* Analyze product flow to the stores and between virtual warehouses, identify potential logistical issues and support issue resolutions.
* Responsible for adhering to P.O. prioritization for all research and tracking of P.O.s/SKUs.
* Create initial expediting requests and execute when approved.
* Execute product RTV/RTA requests.
* Lead vendor collaboration and PSI calls.

Basic Requirements:
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Strong communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)

Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelors Degree
* Experience in any combination of the following; Retail, Supply Chain, Planning and/or Inventory
* 2 or more years of experience in Inventory Planning, Procurement, Forecasting or Allocation
* Basic knowledge of business mathematics/statistics
* Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel experience

We are seeking a Category Sourcing Director in our Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Team (Project Services) based in our Atlanta Corporate office and will be responsible for all of the Construction Services category. The role reports to the Vice President, Strategic Sourcing & Procurement. The individual is responsible for leading and managing a team, as well as development and implementation of category strategies through Cross-Functional teams and relevant business units. Responsible for execution and optimization of approx. $750MM annual Construction Services spend.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

KEY REPONSIBILITIES:
Provide overall leadership and sponsorship of the Construction Service categories.
Support projects and initiatives with resources and communicate expectations to cross-functional team members and suppliers.
Interact and influence the senior management team through formal and informal communications and establish a Point of View (POV) on specific projects or initiatives across the GP investment portfolio.
Talent development of team through performance based objectives and measurements.
Provide direction and ensure team members have support for initiatives across the organization based on the greatest long-term value and best overall Total Cost of Ownership(TCO).
Provides category specific leadership and direction to our suppliers as well as business leaders, engineering, maintenance, procurement and operations.
Lead, develop and execute category strategies to deliver and optimize category management results to meet strategic long term value creation objectives of GP.
Understand business unit and facility requirements and develop and execute a shared vision and strategy which delivers value to meet the business needs across divisions.
Provide expertise in analyzing supply markets and assessing supplier capabilities utilizing fact based data, commodity trackers and benchmarking data.
Analysis of GP current and future requirements, supply markets and supplier comparative advantages allowing the advancement and management across the categories through effective and efficient strategies.
Determine resources and category leads necessary to create value and meet the business and facility objectives.
Be responsible for analytics on commercial and technical evaluations of project sourcing events.
Advise core team on operating needs and provide needed supporting information (specifications, volumes/pricing, technical expertise, local practices, and other data as required).
Evaluate future state applications to determine company impact and developing a strategic point of view for advancing and optimizing the overall and various sub categories.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors degree r higher
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Construction, Project Management or relevant work experience in sourcing or supply of Construction Services and related systems
Experience with construction, maintenance and projects preferably in the pulp and paper industry
Experience interacting and leading cross functional teams across businesses
Direct supplier/commercial negotiation experience with local, regional and/or national contract agreements
Proficient with Outlook, Word, and Excel
Must be willing and able to travel 25% as needed

What is the Category Manager, IT Sourcing responsible for?

The Category Manager, IT Sourcing is directly responsible for strategic sourcing, negotiation, contracting and category management. The goal of the position is to reduce Best Buys total cost of IT ownership and to mitigate Best Buys risk by leveraging effective sourcing strategies, tools and processes for IT products and services acquired for internal use by Best Buy.
